Magical World of Gigi

Magical Princess Gigi

A light-hearted fantasy about the Princess from Fairyland, who comes to Earth in the form of a 12-year-old mortal, but still with the powers of a fairy princess, to do good deeds. This 1982 Japanese-produced classic magical girl (shoujo) anime was originally named Magic Princess Minky Momo, and was released in some countries as the Magical World of Gigi. It was originally a movie, but was split up into 5 episodes to be aired as a miniseries.

*screams* This cartoon really exist and is not a figment of my imagination!!!! *grin*

*grin* It's just that everytime i mention this cartoon or when a group of us will be reminiscing about cartoons shown in the 80s, no one seems to have caught this particular cartoon. Now that i have proof that this really existed i guess i am going to pride myself that i have watched a cartoon that not many have caught on tv and i really liked it. :P

A list of some other cartoons that i have watched when i was a kid :

Voltron : Defender of the Universe, Transformers, Centurions, Gummy Bears, Wuzzles, SheRa, HeMan, Thundercats, Care Bears, My Little Pony & Friends, Duck Tales, Dungeons & Dragon, Snorkles, Rainbow Brite, BraveStarr, Dino Riders, etc.

They have the new digital Transformers series but ... somehow it didn't appeal to me. The originals are still the best! :P

So what about you guys out there? Which 80s cartoons have you caught and really liked?

Bright flash! *mind went 'whose taking pictures of me?'* Sound of balloon bursting! *mind went 'uh oh... ...'* I look up and our dear Alex is enveloped by creepie smoke seemingly coming from under his table as he just sits there with the look on his face saying "WTF just happened????!"

Make a long story short, the 2-pin plug socket to the DVD-writer overheated and exploded, literally, from the power point. *EAKS!!!!!*

And the conversation that transpired later between Alex, Sherry and i went something like this ... ... ... ... ...

Ee : you know too bad i didn't have my cammie with me

Ee : smoke enveloping xiao didi (lil bro) would have made quite a pic

Alex : Hhaha.... i'm trumatised okay? go read my blog

Ee : i was going to write it on my blog as well

Alex : Too close to my family jewels for comfort.

Ee : ohohohoh ... lmao

.......... few mins passed ..........

Ee : alex's entry ... hilarious!!

Sherry : yupx..

Ee : he made me cry

Alex : Hahaha....you must be so moved for my precious

Alex : It thanks you.

Alex : *precious takes a bow*

Ee : precious is already bowing all the time anyways

Alex : Eh ruth ... ruth's cat's precious right?

Ee : dog :)

Alex : oh fine... i shall make the appropriate amendments

Ee : *rotflmao*

NB : Sorry mate, was more worried about the DVD-writer than your "Precious". ;P

queasiness

it's lunch time.

i don't feel like eating the lunch i had packed in this morning.

my mind are on other things.

and i am not hungrie.

i feel sick.

not sick like throwing up.

just sick.

just don't feel like eating.

that's how i know something is bothering me.

and lately i have this tune going on and on in my head

red and yellow and pink and green

purple and orange and blue

i can sing a rainbow

sing a rainbow

sing a rainbow too

love. hate.

I was there early, so decided i should copy the notes from my classmate for the previous lectures i had purposely decided to be late for. Settled comfortably in a corner with a bitter-sweet iced-mocha and started to fill up the blank piece of notepad.

Every now and then i would take a sip of my drink and reflected on why i was drawn to this place yet at the same time repelled by it. I watched the people as the walked by, a sea of expressions ranging from happy, nervous, excited, sadness, longing and reluctance.

I try to drown out the emotions that i see on their faces as i know how it will affect me and i didn't like it. They said they would call me when they reached here so i continued to copy the notes.

Finally, i get the call and meet them as they got off the bus. I only knew some of them in the group and the rest i was seeing for the first time so i only made eye contact to the ones i knew and proceeded to chatter idly. We proceeded into the building again and caught up on the week that had passed. It was nice to see them again but still the gnawing feeling of sadness was starting to creep up slowly. After an hour or so, i gave them each a hug and big them farewell. Said i hope to see them again soon, turned and walked away.

Every step i took that brought me closer to the bus stop was one step further away from them. I was not close to them, they were a friend's friends. Yet, i felt sad to have to part with their company. Maybe it's cos seeing them always renewed my desire to reach my goal and fuelled my motivation that much harder.

No, that is not the only reason. The main reason was because of this place. I have a love-hate relationship with this environment that i am in when i am here. It has given me manybitter-sweet memories. Always filling me with a sense of dread, of sorrow, and of longing. Everytime i am here i would fantasize the time that will come that i will not be filled with the sense of sorrow and longing when i next step into this place.

No. The next time i stepped into this building, i will be nervous and almost sick to my stomach with anticipation of what lies ahead of me as i am that much closer to my dream.

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think of the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the twin towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. And if you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion that love actually is all around.
